Accounts Payable Lead
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and train Accounts Payable staff.
- Monitor Accounts Payable department workload.
- Coordinate daily accounting issues as they affect AP and other departments.
- Follow-up with A/P staff, Supplier and/or Supply Chain Management staff to ensure timely resolution of outstanding balances.
- Gather and report metrics.
- Review, approve, and audit manual AP entries for accuracy and to ensure adequate supporting documentation exists.
- Process cash disbursements to suppliers (EFT, Check and Wire Transfers).
- Coordinate, manage, and support audit requests from internal and external auditors.
- Review sales/use tax for accuracy.
- Obtain, review, and retain W-9, W-8BEN forms.
- Ensure accuracy of TIN in supplier master database.
- Assist with yearly 1099 Preparation, mailing and IRS reporting.
- Assist other accountants or managers in reviewing, auditing and/or analyzing financial information, particularly related to, but no limited to, Accounts Payable.
- Prepare monthly journal entries.
- Prepare and reconcile payables and other miscellaneous monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports.
- Prepare general ledger account reconciliations.
- Lead in testing software upgrades.
- Ensure company policy and procedure compliance, as well as other regulatory compliance.
- Assist with preparation of yearly employee performance reviews.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units, and the Company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need:
- BS/BA in Accounting or a related field plus 2 or more years related experience is required.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience. Two years of related experience may be substituted for each year of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Accounts Payable lead or supervisory experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, lead and customer service skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational ability.
- Ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong technical skills and understanding of system and subsystem interfaces.
- Ability to consistently meet all deadlines.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft software such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Report writing and report preparation skills and experience.
- Experience working with major integrated ERP system.
- In depth knowledge of Sales/Use tax.
- Experience with the following preferred:
- Deltek Costpoint
- Hyland OnBase
- IFS
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Business Objects

- Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $60,500 - $82,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
