AbsenceSoft is experiencing unprecedented growth amidst the Covid-19 pandemic and has an immediate need to hire an Accounting Manager. Position Overview The Accounting Manager is responsible for the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, financial record-keeping and reporting requirements, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and taxes. This is a hands-on position that requires a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong analytical and communication skills. The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Position Overview
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, financial record-keeping and reporting requirements, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and taxes. This is a hands-on position that requires a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong analytical and communication skills. The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform month-end closing activities, including; journal entries, account analysis, account reconciliations, financial report preparation and review
Prepare fluctuation analysis and explanation of variances and other preparation and analysis
Assist with the development and implementation of GAAP compliant (ASC-606) revenue, recognition policies, and procedures
Perform tasks to collect delinquent accounts receivable
Prepare and file sales and use tax returns, state and local business reports
Support annual audit and filing of income tax returns.
Support general office management, administration, and operations
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of progressive and relevant experience in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS business
Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting; CPA preferred
Analytical, quick learner with high attention to detail
Proficient understanding of GAAP (ASC 606 knowledge and experience a big plus)
Experience with QuickBooks or similar cloud-based accounting systems
Highly organized, proactive self-starter
Able to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
A high degree of professionalism and regard for confidentiality
Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
