Job Description
We are hiring an Accounting Manager to join our centralized team in the Denver Tech Center, CO, who will be leading a group of accountants responsible for accounting activity related to Risk and Insurance Accounting. Scope includes financial forecasting, budgeting, and the preparation of financial schedules, statements, and reports.
A bit more about what you'll do:
- Lead a team of accountants, providing guidance, insight and opportunity for growth and development.
- Manage accounting and financial analyses in one or more function including auditing, budgeting, cost accounting, general accounting, and program cost control and scheduling.
- Be the main point of contact and subject matter expert for company related to risk and insurance policies. With a significant portfolio of properties and several types of insurance coverage, work with department heads as they seek insight from risk’s historic and projected activities.
- Work with outside insurance contacts to manage renewal process and items affecting your department.
- Be a driving resource to improve processes and communicate policies and procedures to team and other departments.
- Support team and provide high-level review of work on casualty events and insurance policy renewals. Renewals include internal and external property allocations.
- Prepare and ensure accuracy of financial records and reports
- Collaborate among departments to share accounting data and improve efficiencies.
- Apply advanced accounting concepts, theories and principals to develop solutions to problems. Adhere to FASB guidelines and GAAP, company policies and procedures and other regulations in the performance of duties.
- Setting department and staff goals based on overall department or company goals.
- Provide advice as subject matter expert in the development of accounting software and property operating systems.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and hold a CPA.
- 8+ years of experience in accounting, budgeting, and financial management. Experience related to cost allocations and elimination entries strongly preferred.
- Proven success with leading a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, mentorship and support as needed.
- Confident communicator with the level of maturity and presence necessary to influence senior executives and business leaders.
- Thrives on driving innovation and change that will propel the business forward.
- Consistently practices strategic thinking and adjusts leadership style according to the demands of the situation.
Additional Information
AIR offers attractive total compensation packages designed to recognize and reward performance at the individual, team and company levels. We start with a competitive base salary and add bonus opportunities and benefit choices topped off with:
- Expected pay of $80,000 - $120,000. You will be provided a pay rate that is in line with your skills and experience as they relate to the requirements of the job.
