We’re a small, scrappy startup with multiple revenue streams. We’re looking for someone who can come in and own our AR/AP from start to finish. While Flytedesk has an outsourced accounting resource, you will have the most in-house knowledge of accounting. As such, this isn’t a role for someone that likes to be micromanaged. You’ll have a lot of freedom to build processes and tackle projects, but you’ll have to be a self-starter, hold yourself to super high standards, be flexible, and be eager to collaborate and solve problems as they arise. The right person is looking to grow and take on more complicated projects as we scale. 

responsibilities

Accounts Payable - The student media offices we partner with depend on flytedesk’s timely payment to fund their organizations, and we work with hundreds of student influencers who use their income from flytedesk to pay their bills. AP plays a major role in our customer experience, and we’ll depend on this role to take ownership of that responsibility.

Accounts Receivable - flytedesk has multiple revenue sources, each with unique payment plans. You’ll need to ensure that our invoices are sent, our bills are paid, and we’re following up quickly with overdue accounts.

Payroll - You’ll process payroll twice per month and assist with other HR duties as they pop up.

Other - maintaining the general ledger, performing month-end close processes, preparing various reports including investor breakdown reports.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Master’s Degree or at least 3 years relevant general accounting experience
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Self-starter with strong personal accountability
• Able to operate independently with very little oversight 
• Strong attention to detail
• Flexible problem-solver

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Quickbooks
• Experience with B2B SaaS products

Because this role is so intertwined with customer service, you will work closely with our sales and publisher teams as well as our co-founders, Alex Kronman and Piper Jackson-Sevy.

We are currently hiring for a VP-Finance. This role will report to the VP-Finance, and Piper Jackson-Sevy in the interim.
