Job Overview

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day and month-end accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Inventory, reconciliations and reporting.  The candidate must not only excel at the technical side of the job, but also be a good cultural fit with the hardworking, fun, and dynamic people that make up the Birch Benders team. This position will be based out of our office in the vibrant LoHi neighborhood of Denver, CO.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Full cycle accounts payable, including processing and coding invoices and expenses while maintaining positive relationships with vendors and partners
  • Perform inventory reconciliations, ensuring accurate three-way match and reconciling billed not received accounts, working closely with the operations team
  • Assist with preparing various reconciliations during month end close, including prepaids and fixed assets
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and reporting as needed
  • Assist with processing expense reports and receipts
  • Prepare customer invoices and statements, and assist with collection of aged receivables
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy through proper application of accounting principles
  • Ad hoc tasks and analysis

Job Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • EXPERIENCE: 0-1 year, CPG industry experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • High level of accountability, professionalism, ethics and integrity
  • Interested in getting in on the ground level and growing with a fast-paced organization
