Studio by Engrain is seeking a mid-level web developer to join our in-house development team. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript) and aesthetics. We are looking for an individual with working knowledge of WordPress. Experience with responsive mobile-first web development and adaptive development is a must. As a player in Studio’s continued growth, the Web Developer is instrumental in maintaining our place as a cutting edge, high-end creative agency.

You can expect to:

• Create interactive website experiences using HTML5 and CSS3, PHP and WordPress
• Work with internal clients and project management team to translate ideas and goals into functional sites that align with client objectives and are completed on time and within budget
• Ensure that website elements focus on engagement, usability and compliance with current web and industry best practices
• Based on requirements and design specifications, manage content updates, and implement web site modifications and enhancements for multiple website projects
• Optimize output to match the specific platform (i.e. mobile versus desktop)
• Support SEO efforts during website building and maintenance activities
• Perform testing of web applications and systems, engaging users when necessary
• Act as a participant in all user acceptance testing and report results
• Recognize and recommend operational process improvements and identify issues that impact site users
• Other tasks, as assigned

We would like:

• 2+ years of PHP web development
• Strong understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
• Good working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
• Proven experience with building front-end web elements
• Experience developing for multiple browsers and platforms (to include mobile and desktop)
• Working knowledge of WordPress
• Ability to effectively and accurately assess scope of work and effort required
• Ability to work constructively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines and multiple priorities  
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Collaborative team player
• Ability to gain clarity when direction is required
• Willingness to share best practices, continually improve processes and provide clear and consistent reporting to leadership
• Self-directed, proactive, and independent in a dynamic and aggressive startup environment
• This is not a remote position
