Web Developer - Work for THE INDUSTRY LEADER!

If you have a deep interest in software and its ability to impact global democracy, citizen engagement, and increased government transparency, we are interested in talking to you.

As the leader in government technology, we’ve chosen to create a home in the heart of downtown Denver and we’re looking for talented, hard-working individuals to join the team.

As a Web Designer in the Granicus Web Design team you will use a combination of various technologies to implement web pages, documents, and reports from our various software solutions. These technologies include (but are not limited to) HTML, CSS, PHP, Crystal Reports, XSLT, XAML and other technologies . You will work with clients from start to finish – assessing their current outputs and systems, addressing questions and requests as they arise, and implementing/creating templates based on your assessments. You will also provide support and troubleshoot issues with clients as they arise.

We are seeking a candidate with proven communication and mentorship abilities who has an interest in growing as a technical leader with a high-tech company. A high attention to detail and a solid understanding of layout and document design concepts is also desired.

We have a casual, open office environment within walking distance of the Light Rail, and we’re seeking individuals who can work collaboratively to design, build, test, sell, deploy and support our software.  Our office has the best views in town – from the 40th floor of the Jacobs Engineering building.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Create and validate web and software templates for clients utilizing HTML, CSS, XAML, PHP (Smarty), Crystal Reports and Regular Expressions and other in-house technologies.
  • Critically analyze and assess all new clients’ documents and websites.  Work with clients and internal project team members to best implement solutions within our software
  • Work with clients to identify and implement specific branding, style and formatting elements into Granicus software and templates
  • Constantly look for new ways to standardize and streamline our templates and deployments
  • Provide mockups and examples and walk clients through them when necessary
  • Build and maintain internal documentation regarding standard methods and processes
  • Provide support and troubleshoot issues with clients as they arise
  • Serve as an internal expert on design template and integration issues, providing guidance and expertise to various team members in the Granicus organization
  • Drive department change and improve processes while still working “in the trenches”

Skills & Requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum BA/BS in computer information systems, web development or web design. Candidates with non-technical degrees will be considered if they have at least 2 years demonstrated experience in a web development/technical environment.
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript & regular expressions
  • Experience with databases and data reporting systems such as Crystal Reports (preferred)
  • Strong client communications & interpersonal skills – ability to listen to clients, provide guidance, and provide them with a clear path to resolution is essential
  • Incredible attention to detail and exactness
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills in a fast paced team environment
  • Excellent time management and personal organization
  • Ability to convey and advocate ideas and change using diplomacy and tact

Nice to have:

  • Experience leading projects relating to web site deployments, content management systems or similar domain expertise
  • Familiarity extending software with API’s and SDK’s
  • MSSQL, C#, or Ruby on Rails experience
  • Experience with jQuery, Twitter Bootstrap and other front end web technologies.
  • Adept at Photoshop and/or other Adobe CS components

More than 20,000 government users leverage our cloud-based technology every day to webcast public meetings, manage and deliver legislative information, and collaborate with citizens.  We measure our success not in ad clicks, conversation rates, and in-app purchases, but rather through how much we can improve our society and change the world for the better.
