US ARMY Program Principal Systems Engineer

Position Type: Full Time

Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $149,932 - $230,775. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is not a remote position.

Additional Compensation: This position is eligible for an end-of-year bonus.

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Program Systems Engineer to join our rapidly growing Bluestaq team. You will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams through the end-to-end delivery of a U.S. Army software development program.

A Bluestaq Program Systems Engineer is responsible for:

  • Building relationships with customers, stakeholders, partners, and Bluestaq team members.
  • Proactively managing all aspects of a project/program through the project life cycle of planning, monitoring, and controlling through execution and project closure.
  • Providing leadership and coordination with cross-functional teams to coordinate companywide resources and ensure that the scope of all projects supports strategic business objectives.
  • Facilitating the planning, estimating, scheduling, analysis, and maintenance of a baselined schedule through program execution.
  • Providing structure and facilitating the program planning process to ensure program activity is accurately captured and reported.
  • Use technical judgment and operational experience to drive project outcomes, build consensus, remove roadblocks, and resolve conflicts.
  • Represent the customers' priorities to the development team, prioritize the work, and drive tasks to completion while balancing resources
  • Develop dashboards, templates, and advanced filters in Confluence and JIRA to provide end-users and business stakeholders with meaningful operational and performance metrics and status reports.

Basic Qualifications and Skills:

  • 12+ years of program management and systems engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years of experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Operational experience with the U.S. Army community. Military experience welcome!
  • Familiar with program management principles and agile software development methodologies.
  • Ability to establish credibility and trust with key stakeholders and project teams to effectively lead through influence.
  • Ability to maintain and mentor team members' performance through strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to identify and assess factors that may jeopardize the success of the program. Implement procedures to avoid or minimize their impact.
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities within a team-centric environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, especially when tailoring information to non-technical audiences.
  • Displays a strong sense of ownership.
  • Possesses a high level of curiosity.

Required Education:12+ years of program management and systems engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years of experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Clearance Requirement: This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance. To be eligible for a clearance, U.S. Citizenship is required, and an employee must agree to participate in a background screen and credit check.

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
