What you'll do

Billtrust is seeking a Software Engineer in Test (Test Automation Engineer) to code and maintain a fully automated testing process across CI/CD pipelines for our next-generation platform and multi-tenant SaaS offering, built on microservices architecture, containers, and AWS infrastructure. You will need to be collaborative and influential across our Agile teams, working closely with Dev, Product, DevOps and other teams to automate testing where possible and contribute to our Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines.

• Collaborate with distributed agile teams to deliver best-in-class technical solutions for our next-gen payments platform.
• Identify defect-prone areas in product and platform architecture and design and provide test coverage
• Contribute to our growing test automation framework and infrastructure, and automate REST APIs and console applications
• Design and/or implement tools and techniques supporting robust functional, end to end and load/performance test automation for web applications across pre-production and production environments in a CI/CD pipeline
• Continuously learn production traffic patterns and optimize testing process

What you'll bring to the team

• An attitude where no technical challenge is too great
• Strong ability to create and design test automation and test infrastructure - 3+ years in a Software Engineer or Software Engineer in Test capacity ideal
• Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally, and work well with a distributed team-oriented environment
• Ability to leverage a variety of languages, frameworks, tools and techniques for test automation, including C#, Postman, Newman, Jmeter
• Strong ability to debug test failures/production issues and trace to failing code
• DevOps mindset with an understanding of CI/CD practices and tooling
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain code repositories, preferably using Git/GitLab
• Understanding of test metrics and the tools to measure them
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and services such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SQS and/or SNS nice-to-have
• Experience with Agile/Scrum processes and techniques
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
