Technical Services Consultant- Integration Engineer

Position Summary

Kapost is seeking a Technical Services Consultant - Integration Engineer to join our Professional Services technical consulting team to design and deliver platform technical and integration solutions for an enterprise customer. As a Technical Services Consultant, you’ll be dedicated to this customer to address multiple technical challenges including integration applications which extend our software portfolio, asset migration of digital assets, bulk data updates to ease implementation tasks, and data extraction which will enable powerful reporting. This role is intended to be dedicated to one customer for at least 12 months, with ongoing opportunities after the 12 month period to address other customers’ similar needs. This is a permanent full time position.

As a member of our Professional Services team, you will work with your peers among Engineering, Support, and Customer Success teams, to own coding and scripting projects as well as customized web services and other applications which interface to our technology platform. You will engage with representatives at this customer’s site to gather requirements and design custom solutions which help to build well-designed, industry standard, solutions for a SaaS environment. You’ll be responsible for all phases of the development lifecycle for these custom solutions which extend our platform to meet our customers’ needs.

Job Description

In this role, you will be in charge of specific technical services delivered to our client for which you are dedicated, with an emphasis on integration and connecting applications using web services. As a member of the Professional Services Technical team, you will also be involved in developing new technical services opportunities, helping with the growth of our business, and delivering customer requirements to keep our customers delighted with every aspect of their involvement with Kapost.

This is a billable consulting position in our growing organization. Travel and billable utilization requirements are expected to accompany this role on an as needed basis. You will have the following primary duties in this role:

  • Lead representative in the Integration services delivery (building custom solutions which extend our platform to share data)
  • Perform customer engagements as defined in the Custom Integration Services portfolio for Professional Services
  • Maintenance and optimization of delivered solutions (documentation, automation and tests, etc.)
  • Subject matter expertise of the Kapost platform, primarily around the Kapost API
  • Collaboration with Support and Engineering as needed to identify and resolve defects and keep improving our platform
  • Working directly with customer representatives to design integration solutions and other requests to meet customer requirements
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on a team of consultants to develop innovative solutions to customer problems

As a member of this growing team and a specialist in integration, the following skills and expertise will be required on a daily basis:

  • RESTful API principles and architecture
  • Use open source tools and best practices to build innovative processes for API interaction and data transformation
  • Knowledge of standard development lifecycle practices for the integration of multiple software products in a Continuous Deployment environment
  • Deep analysis of test results to ensure all possible options have been researched to find the optimal solution to complex customer problems
  • Sound Technical writing skills to ensure the main concepts of installation and configuration learned through development are clearly shared with customers via multiple means
  • Design and implement a meaningful customer-centric test plan and test cases that ensure proper end-to-end testing requirements are well planned, communicated, and the results transparent to the customer
  • If needed, work with our support and pre-sales organization to position our technology approaches as an advocate and subject matter expert
  • Participate in design and roadmap discussion to represent the voice of the developer and ensure strategic direction and product improvements on an ongoing basis
  • Provide cross-training and mentoring to other Engineers as they progress in mastering the skills necessary to help our customers achieve success

 

You are/have:

  • Proven server-side web application architecture and development experience using Ruby or Node.js
  • Solid experience with the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to testing and deployment
  • Experience working with customers in a customer-facing role
  • Experience debugging, diagnosing, and troubleshooting software issues
  • Extremely detail oriented with a customer-first focus
  • Excited to learn an innovative new product in a startup atmosphere with a team of dedicated professionals
  • A self-starter and a team player, passionate about customer satisfaction and willing to lean-in to ensure positive outcomes
  • A good sense of humor
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of your work time

Additional Helpful Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with  SaaS software development and technology including SSO
  • Experience building integration services between software platforms
  • Experience with git, subversion or some other form of code source control
  • Experience with integration tools like Azuqua or Zapier
  • Experience with continuous integration techniques and tools like automated testing
  • Experience in the Marketing industry
