Technical Lead Engineer - Customer Management at OnDeck

As a Tech Lead at OnDeck on our Customer Management value stream, you will:
- Help design innovative and flexible full-stack solutions to enable efficient customer management and loan servicing.
- Closely collaborate with technology and product leadership, QA, DevOps and other teams to orchestrate medium to large scale development efforts.
- Remain hands-on, contributing to multiple codebases, while also guiding the team.
- Coach and mentor your development team in all aspects of the agile development cycle.
- Get to know and work with all facets of OnDeck business operation.
- Strong ability and desire to work in a close-knit, collaborative team environment.
- Promote culture of learning, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Qualifications for success:
- 4 year BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 7+ years of coding experience.
- Ideally 1-2 years of people management experience, but not required
- Experience leading a team, building full-stack web solutions and designing flexible services and APIs.
- Experience with a Java web stack, DI and ORM frameworks, build tools like Maven or Gradle.
- Experience with frameworks like AngularJS, React, Ruby/Ruby on Rails.
- Experience with financial and accounting systems is desirable.
- Strong software system design (design patterns) fundamentals.
- Experience with enterprise DBs like Postgres, Oracle. MongoDb is a plus.
- Familiarity with leading core banking platforms (e.g FIS, Finacle or Temenos T24 etc) will be a plus.
- “Craftsman” mindset toward building software and a drive to continuously care for and improve existing codebases.
- Comfort with an Agile development environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
