Job Overview:

You will work closely with established team members and become familiar with our technology stack. As you improve your understanding of our business logic, you will contribute your experience by assisting our customers as they integrate with our API and other systems. 

The ideal candidate will enjoy constant learning and will be interested in developing their skillset across a wide variety of technologies. This role involves untangling difficult interoperability issues that arise by performing analysis of application and network logs, writing occasional middleware code to make components work together, evaluating data formatting issues, etc. 

Responsibilities:

• Gather and analyze data to determine system requirements
• Use SQL scripting to review and process data
• Build Boomi integrations linking customer data to the Smartwyre API
• Develop work plans and estimates as they relate to systems integration work tasks and team members
• Research, evaluate, and recommend systems, equipment and technologies based on client needs
• Draft technical instructions, engineering plans, technical designs, and other systems integration related documents
• Liaise with various team members such as management, administration, legal, and support staff on a regular basis
• Develop and conduct testing plans and procedures based upon system recommendations
• Provide clients with post-installation and integration support
• Develop a solid foundation of domain knowledge that will guide your decisions and your collaboration with the business
• Participate in technical discussions with internal and external software engineering and network engineering peers
• Explain requirements for integration to customers and support them in their efforts
• Communicate status of integrations to internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of technical proficiency
• THIS IS A HANDS ON TECHNICAL POSITION - this role will be working with software, servers, command lines, terminals, and will write scripts and database queries

Requirements:

• Proficient writing database queries using SQL 
• Proficient working with large data files (too large to be opened with Microsoft Excel)
• Proficient working with Dell Boomi
• Experience performing ETL processes
• A methodical approach to problem solving and prioritization
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to translate customer requests and needs into concrete technical requirements
• Proficient working with Microsoft Office applications
• Willingness to travel up to 50%

Strong Preference for:

• A broad knowledge of hardware, software, and networking
• Experience in the Agricultural sector
• Experience integrating customer systems with third party and in house APIs 
• Understanding of and familiarity with Unix, MacOS, and Windows operating systems
• Knowledge of system and software engineering architecture principles, concepts, and best practices
• Experience integrating technologies and cloud hosting providers such as: Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Apache, Tomcat, IIS, Oracle, SQLServer
