Position Summary

The Systems Engineering Manager will lead the team of system engineers in a technical hands-on role. Contributes to systems, network engineering and tier 3 support required to maintain operations. Works with management to establish strategic goals and manage system infrastructure. Functions as the technical subject matter expert to determine technical project requirements as well as solutions. Oversee and advise on the best tools, frameworks, and processes to drive operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Leads technology engineering projects and tier III operational support for a team of local and remote System/Network Engineers. Manages the engineering and operational support of systems, network, and overall technology projects. Establishes technical priorities related to new solutions and operational support. Ensures sufficient systems capacities for organizational needs. Supervises employees, assigns, and reviews projects to ensure goals are met. Works with other technology teams and prepares progress reports regarding projects and operational needs. Acts as a lead systems engineer and operational support interface with vendor and provides internal analysis and support.
  • Oversees and contributes to technical administration of systems, network, security, and operations while leading technical staff within organization to develop, maintain, and improve technology infrastructure. Guarantees the performance, integrity, and reliability of technology infrastructure. Controls system capacities for existing requirements and plans for future needs. Evaluates technology solutions and recommends use of new products and services to senior management.
  • Support and manage Microsoft Office Suite applications, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services and Microsoft Exchange Management Console. Software testing, piloting, and production implementation.
  • Manage application maintenance and upgrades.
  • Supervises the installation and maintenance of the organization's systems, storage, and applications. Leads the design, performance, and security of network LAN/WAN, telecommunication assets, and firewall systems.
  • Capture, prioritize, track and drive closure on issues including risks and mitigation plans
  • Plan, develop, and analyze system integration with subsystem owners to maintain requirements traceability through verification
  • Contribute to data-driven decision making by crafting experiments, analyzing data, and communicating results
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • BS in computer science/engineering or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a systems engineering, operations, and/or support leader
  • 3+ years of relevant hands-on systems engineering experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and infrastructure as code
  • CCIE/CCNA/CCNP certification required
  • Experience with Power Automate/Power Apps preferred
  • Experience with O365 administration preferred
  • AWS/Azure or other cloud system certification preferred
  • ITIL certification preferred

 

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $120,000 - $160,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience.
