Systems Engineer III (Hybrid)
** This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote days). **
JOB SCOPE
The Systems Engineer III is responsible for designing, deploying and maintaining an environment that will support automated workflows for Network Operations applications. This role also will be the system admin of the applications, and will be a domain expert, offering support when applicable.
The candidate has a great opportunity to make an instant impact on operations, by learning existing workflows, and designing ways to automate them. The candidate should be able to provide support for on prem infrastructure, virtualized architecture, python development and containerization (kubernetes and docker). The candidate can expect to work in an Agile / Scrum environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
- Develop / maintain python scripts for network automation
- Work with key customers to understand business challenges and propose short term and long term solutions
- Work with a team of developers to most efficiently design and develop solutions to resolve business challenges
- Provide operational support for VMware, Kubnertes, Docker and linux servers
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Become an expert on existing tools, and be prepared to offer training or on demand assistance
- Develop data objects for business analytics using data modeling techniques
- Develop data analysis code to create insights and automation triggers
- Provide QoS statistics for mobile subscribers
- Automate bare metal systems
- Document system configurations and upgrades
BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of Software Development experience using Python, JavaScript, HTML, JDBC, and MySQL or Mongo DB on Linux, and RedHat platforms
- Minimum one (1) year of experience with Unix/Linux Administration or shell scripting
- Minimum one (1) year of experience supporting Performance Monitoring and Diagnostic tools (e.g. Netscout, OP5, Rancher or others) in an Enterprise setting
- Experience architecting/building real-time data ingestion/delivery streams
- Basic understanding of networking technologies such as VLANs, VXLANS, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, IPv6
ADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- End to end API and integration experience
- Working knowledge of Wireless networking
- Working knowledge of routing, firewalls, ACLs
- Experience being a Linux admin
- Experience generating ad-hoc reports via customer request
- Effectively communicate with both technical, and non-technical peers
- Ability to perform live troubleshooting on production issues
- Knowledge of ticketing systems, such as Jira
- Experience with GitHub or other SCCM tools
- Exposure to customer facing networks and systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and learn new systems quickly
- Experience with databases such as Postgres, TimeScaleDB, MongoDB, etc.
- Network performance monitoring
- Experience with virtualizations and containerization technologies
- Transforming and transferring big data - ML/AI is a plus
- Python development
- Working knowledge of 5G networking

The pay for this position has a salary range of $76,800.00 to $135,800.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
