Senior Systems Engineer (GN&C Hardware)

As an aerospace engineer, you will research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll develop complex aerodynamic components, structures, and systems. Your technical duties involve the design and development, analysis, and test of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.
Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin and Durham, North Carolina, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations. Must-haves:
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or other related discipline and typically 10 (ten) or more years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Understanding of Guidance, Navigation, and Control design and analysis
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
Preferred:
- Exposure to Engineering Simulation tools such as Simulink and STK
- Understanding of spacecraft environments, spacecraft performance and control
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Understanding of system-level static and dynamic modeling and simulation
- Exposure to spacecraft control principles and control system design and analysis
- Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definitions, fundamentals of spacecraft mechanics.
- The ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance may be required.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $120,552.10 - $165,759.14
