Job Description:
We are seeking a strong Systems Engineer, Big Data & Monitoring to join the RingCentral Operations Intelligence team. You will be responsible for designing, maintaining and operating our top-notch monitoring infrastructure including developing tools based on ELK stack, Zabbix, Tick stack etc. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing RingCentral's core monitoring infrastructure and big data tools to support our next generation of products and monitoring initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility for designing implementing and maintaining RingCentral's monitoring tools and infrastructure (Zabbix, ELK etc) including using a configuration management system
- Optimize monitoring system performance as workloads on the system change
- Stay on top of capacity requirements in a growing environment, by developing and using custom dashboards
- Write scripts/code to integrate all monitoring components together as a complete top-notch monitoring system
- Participate in an on-call rotation
Experience & Skills:
- Extensive experience designing and operating monitoring systems (Zabbix, ELK), preferably in a large environment
- Excellent Linux administration skills, including scripting (bash/python)
- Knowledge of configuration automation tools
- Experience with GIT
- Knowledge of software development best practices
- Experience in a SaaS environment
- Experience with service-oriented architectures
- Ability to work in a diverse multicultural environment
- Good communication skills
- Good team player with self-start ability
Qualifications:
- B.S in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with minimum of 2 years of professional experience
