System Engineer - Remote Ground Stations
The Systems Engineer – Remote Ground Stations performs a key role in developing the future in DigitalGlobe ground station architecture. The SE-RGS is responsible for engaging with key stake holders to determine future requirements, and will develop standards which will scale solutions to meet DigitalGlobe’s scalability needs. The SE-RGS will work closely with implementation teams to ensure that ground stations are meeting operational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders to determine future ground station requirements
- Create and document standards for DigitalGlobe ground stations
- Conduct research into next generation technologies
- Determine the architecture which positions DigitalGlobe ground stations for success
- Collaborate with implementation teams to ensure that systems are implemented with the highest level of performance
- Improve operational excellence by aligning future architecture with current operations
- Engage with internal and external customers to ensure business objectives are met
- Interface with key vendors and partners to deliver DigitalGlobe solutions
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years in system engineering
- U.S. Citizen with a current DoD Clearance (Secret) or the ability to obtain one
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the year
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in engineering, aerospace or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with satellite ground station infrastructure including antennas, radios and processing systems
