System Engineer II - Fault and Performance Engineer
JOB SCOPE
The System Engineer II is part of the Operational Support System (OSS) organization who is responsible for enterprise solution engineering, development, configuration and the operations for various monitoring applications including but not limited to Netcool, CA Spectrum, CA Performance Center, CA UIM and Trap Station for Charter Communication.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- As an OSS System Engineer II, you are responsible for developing, testing (acceptance test)
- Implementing and supporting systems integration solutions based on existing OSS standard solution and architecture.
- System administration
- Additional responsibility also includes supporting, maintaining the stability of the environment and assuring the availability of the platforms for our internal and external customers.
- Responsible for identifying process improvements to increase the performance and capacity in the environment for improved efficiency and quality.
- Supporting and implementing OSS technology solutions
- Supporting monitoring applications
BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Minimum of Three (3) years of experience with troubleshooting technical issues in a medium to large environment
- Minimum of Three (3) years of experience working on monitoring applications
- Ability to work On-call Support rotation
ADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to communicate and influence the business and technical team
- Ability to work independently or collaborate with other teams and teammates on cross-functional projects
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at both a technical and business level
- Working knowledge in Splunk, HPNA, Remedy, Granite, Kafka, Linux, RedHat, Instana, OP5
- Technical writing experience documenting process and procedures
- Understanding OSS architecture, strategy and business operations
- Scripting experience in Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell
- Working knowledge of redundancy and high availability OSS designs
- Understand SNMP and IP protocol
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at both a technical and business level

The pay for this position has a minimum of $73,100.00. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
