Checkr is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role you will work with your team to build new services and features and maintain existing features related to the lifecycle of our customers and accounts. We’re looking for a passionate engineer who takes pride in driving new features from inception through release and is excited about tackling complex problems.
- Define, architect, and implement critical customer and account business logic and capabilities
- Monitor, investigate, triage, and resolve production issues as they arise for services owned by the team
- Collaborate with stakeholders with members of your team and stakeholders in many different departments in Checkr
- Solve challenging and complex engineering and business problems
What you bring:
- 10+ years of experience with Ruby or a similar language.
- A desire to collaborate with teammates and external stakeholders
- Interest in building tools and products to help customers and/or their developers self-serve.
- An interest in scaling distributions without having the need to involve other teams.
- Experience integrating with third-party applications
- Experience creating, maintaining, and operating microservices
- Experience in securing and optimizing the applications you help create
- Experience developing platforms built using an asynchronous event-based architecture

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with Colorado law, the base salary for this role if filled within Colorado is $160,650-$189,000.
