An Insider's view of Optera

What’s the vibe like in the office?

I really appreciate how Optera leadership embraces individualism. A culture of authenticity breeds a very healthy work/office environment.

Thomas

Associate Consultant

What projects are you most excited about?

Complex projects with large datasets are really exciting. It feels like I’m a kid in a sandbox with endless possibilities to build something useful. The more data points in the project, the more opportunity to design decision-making tools that are impactful and often provide unexpected insights to our clients across the ESG landscape.

Michael

Consultant

How does the company support your career growth?

Optera is highly invested in career growth. I've been able to grow from a mid- to senior-level role effectively because of supportive coworkers and an environment that has not only given me the opportunity to explore new responsibilities, but also enabled me to take them up with confidence. It’s inspired me to give back to my team in the same way.

Manjula

Senior Software Engineer

How do your team's ideas influence the company's direction?

Great ideas come from all levels of the company. Ideas that seem incremental at first glance, when shared and refined, can influence the entire company direction. Our most significant products came from our team trying to solve new problems with clients. I see this “good ideas come from anywhere mentality” as a superpower for Optera.

Jason

Chief Innovation Officer, Co-Founder

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

We get every other Friday off, which has given me the time I need to make appointments and take day trips without disrupting my work. On top of that, we all take time off and our coworkers support our workload so we can truly unplug. I feel encouraged and rewarded for taking mental health days and doing what I need to do to take care of myself.

Melanie

Software Engineer
