SRE Lab Infrastructure Engineer
POSITION TITLE: SRE Lab Infrastructure Engineer (Full Time; Multiple Openings)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for for supporting test environments used by Development, QA and Release teams in creating RingCentral’s world class cloud based unified business communications service.
JOB DUTIES: Supporting test environments located in datacenters across the globe; Working with AWS cloud to support RingCentral’s complex test environments; Investigating and troubleshooting operational and infrastructure issues and developing innovative tools and solutions; Integrating existing services with new sub-systems and developing new methods to continuously support systems; Performing configuration management and developing technology to autmoate routine processes; Working with Operations, Network Operations, Developer and QA teams to resolve system performance issues; Implementing automated tests, automated deployments, and operational tools; Collaborating with Product and Support teams to plan and deploy product releases; Ensure services are designed with 24/7 availability and operational readiness and rigor; Implementation of proactive monitoring, alerting, trend analysis and self-healing systems; Designing, developing and integrating external solutions to support RingCentral’s products; Participating in on-call rotations, driving restoration and repair of service- impacting issues; Defining non-functional requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence the new designs, standards, and methods for scalable, highly available distributed systems; Handling escalations from the network operations team, and conduct incidents investigation and automated tools development.
REQUIRED SKILLS/TOOLS: Experience with OracleDB, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, GridGain, Coherence, Java, VMWare, AWS, Docker, InfluxDB, Grafana, Linux OS, MS Windows, HTTP, NFS, CIFS, TCP/IP, Python, Shell, Bash, and vSphere is required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE /
QUALIFICATIONS: U.S. Master of Science degree or foreign academic equivalent degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field plus two (2) years of relevant, progressive experience is required. U.S. Bachelor of Science degree or foreign academic equivalent degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field plus five (5) years of relevant, progressive experience is also acceptable. Within the foregoing parameters, any suitable combination of education, training & experience is acceptable.
