Automox is redefining an industry with unmatched ease, speed and control. From IT management to endpoint security, we allow users to easily see, analyze and act across their infrastructure – in an instant.

Our award-winning answer to modern IT operations and best-in-class results earned Automox four straight quarters of record growth. We are now trusted by more than 2,000 leading companies and MSPs worldwide, including NASA, Yale, Xerox, Allbirds and Unicef.

The future of IT Operations is cloud-native – and right now. Will you join us?

OVERVIEW

We are looking for a technical leader to own our customer-facing API and backend services across the Applications organization. This is a high-leverage position that takes your expertise in architecting, designing, implementing, and maintaining complex fullstack software and applies it across multiple teams and product lines to help Automox deliver a suite of cloud-native IT Operations applications faster and more reliably.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • You will be tasked with defining the technical direction of the application organization by making technology and architecture choices, defining best practices, identifying and eliminating technical debt and risk, and empowering the entire organization to deliver critical value to customers faster.
  • You will help shape the strategic direction by internalizing the business objectives and requirements and owning an API that delivers the vision in a way that delights our customers and scales with our rapid growth.

WHY YOU WANT THIS ROLE

  • The Applications organization is in the middle of a transformation. Instead of iterating on a patching solution, we are defining a new approach to the way companies do IT Operations. We have a big vision and need you to step in and help create the future of a product that has the potential to transform IT Operations and the millions of people these systems touch everyday.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 15+ years of experience designing, building, maintaining, and testing API-first SaaS applications
  • Experience leading architecture and technical decisions across multiple teams
  • You think like an engineer but you speak as a product owner
  • This is not your first time architecting an API that cuts through the noise and delivers the simplicity that customers expect
  • You love collaborating in code reviews and discussions about architecture or design
  • You're motivated to help your teammates become more productive and have examples of up-leveling the technical acumen of other engineers to build a stronger team
  • You're passionate about refining tooling for faster builds, a reliable CI, and automated code reviews.
  • You may not know the hippest JavaScript frameworks, but you have worked on the frontend in a previous life and are willing to go the extra mile to figure out a console error
  • You believe that solid, reliable testing is the best way to build confidence in your application and what it can handle

TOTAL COMPENSATION

Colorado applicants: The minimum annual salary for this role is $200,000. Base pay is part of a rich total compensation package and is included for demonstrative purposes only.

Automox offers additional compensation and benefits including: an annual bonus program and equity; comprehensive medical, dental and vision plans; STD & LTD, life insurance and AD&D; tele-medicine and mental health options; flexible spending account; pet insurance; legal shield and ID shield; 401k; perk stipends; an internet allowance; paid time off (including flexible PTO, company recharge days, sick time, paid parent support leave, and medical leave); adoption assistance; flexible schedules; and a remote-first culture.
