AbsenceSoft is looking for an experienced senior software engineer, specializing in object orientated design and development to work within our product and client service teams in order to solve complex and challenging business and technical problems, drive product improvements, provide development and process guidance, mentor junior and mid-level software engineers, and more.
 

Responsibilities and Duties
 

• Perform software development activities including planning, estimating, coding, unit testing, release and support
• Collaborate with customer support, product manager, engineering, product owners, product analysts and customers to clearly understand product needs and systemic problems
• Assist with advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving activities
• Take part in daily stand-up meetings, Scrum or other daily activities
• Create and maintain code-based unit tests, perform peer code reviews
• Work with the application architect for adherence to application standards and product goals as well as contribute to suggested technical approach, architectures and decisions on how to implement.
• Mentor other development staff and more junior resources as necessary

Qualifications And Skills
 

• SaaS for Market software experience
• Min 8 years’ experience in object orientated software development
• Experience with front end technologies like React, Redux, JavaScript, jQuery and Angular
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/MIS
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, preferably in MongoDB and PostgreSQL
• System integration patterns, Rest APIs, Webhooks, Messaging, SOA  
• CI/CD Pipelines and automation, Jenkins, Terraform, Git
• Cloud first approach with AWS, GCP, Azure
• Experience using collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Google Docs
• Entrepreneurial in thinking, outlook, and creative problem-solving
• Strong work ethic and ability to multitask on parallel projects and efforts
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
