Principal Software Engineer, Product Development and Delivery
Location: Hybrid is preferred with the ability to go into the office very sparingly / open to virtual; Canada / US
Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and deliver commercial software products for external use. Incumbents in this role have extensive experience in one or more technologies in the Microsoft Development stack, such as .NET, Web Services, SQL, or other database technologies. Incumbent has in-depth knowledge across a broad spectrum of programming languages and techniques and applies both existing and new technologies in developing solutions.
General Job Duties

• Collaborate with Strategic Marketing, Product Management and customers to determine best solution to meet customer's business needs.
• Design, plan and develop solutions based on industry requirements.
• Resolve complex design problems.
• Manage mid-level to large project deliverables.
• Establish testing procedures to ensure application is thoroughly tested before release.
• Assist in establishing program budget and timelines; manage program within budget and time constraints.
• Mentor and guide other software engineers.
• Perform other duties as required.

Specific Job Duties

• Lead a team of developers for a highly technical infrastructure platform to provide common services across other business platforms.
• Analyze customer requirements and provide robust technical designs to drive software implementation.
• Support best practices for software development around coding standards, patterns, and software development lifecycle.
• Support and champion Agile Scrum development process.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and IT Leadership.

Education/Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's in computer science, related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software development.
• In-depth understanding of one or more high level programming languages.
• Thorough knowledge of multiple technologies in the Microsoft development stack (e.g., .NET, AWS, SQL Server).
• Experience with Web Services and WCF, and the ability to discern how to effectively employ Services Oriented Architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to drive complex technical implementations to completion.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a diverse technical team.
• Experience and working knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
• Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
• Professional certification as warranted.

Organizational Relationships

• Interacts with senior management throughout the Company.

• Acts in a lead capacity on programs of all sizes, but has no direct supervisory responsibility.
• Interacts with other colleagues at all levels in the conduct of day-to-day activities.

External Relationships

• Frequently interacts with customers at the executive level.
• Actively participates in industry forums and user groups.

• For work locations in the state of Colorado, the anticipated minimum base salary for this role would be $,103,800. Compensation will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the applicant.
