JumpCloud is adding Reliability Engineering to our engineering team. At JumpCloud we’re solving complex problems using technologies like Go, Linux, Terraform, Salt, Python and many others. We’re in the cloud and for the cloud, taking advantage of all the fun tools and capabilities offered to us by Amazon AWS. We are focused on delivering cloud-based directory services via a SaaS model and as a result are solving some very difficult problems around identity, authentication, security, and cloud-based architecture cloud scaling.
What you’ll be doing:
This role is responsible for the infrastructure and tooling that supports our solutions. You will be responsible for the availability, scalability and tooling of our environment in an ever increasingly automated manner. Working closely with Security and Product teams to ensure a secure highly automated environment with the proper tooling to provide a hands-off software delivery process with the ability to monitor and triage their applications. You should be a strong believer in DevOps culture, helping developers and operational teams work closely together.
Responsibilities:

Build automated provisioning and deployment tools

Contributes to a team of engineers to deliver highly available, self-service, SRE capabilities

Uncompromising ownership of outcomes and deliverables

Proactively and continuously improve our environment with, actionable ongoing ideas

Build, manage, and support Development, Testing, and Production environments

Partner with development teams by providing infrastructure assistance and guidance from the early phases of product development, including the development of software and processes to assist developers in infrastructure-related workflows

Documenting processes and procedures in managing and securing infrastructure making sure best practices are always followed

Mentor other engineers providing guidance and direction
Qualifications:
-
Mastery in at least one programming language: Python or Golang preferred and Bash
-
Mastery of various AWS offerings including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, Route 53, Cloudwatch
-
Strong experience with container management systems, preference for kubernetes or nomad
-
Experience with monitoring and observability, such as ELK, Datadog, Cloudwatch and Prometheus
-
Strong experience creating full feature automated CI\CD pipeline, CircleCI preference
-
Experience with APM (tracing) solutions

Previous experience as an enterprise-class Site Reliability Engineer

A systematic problem solver, with the ability to think outside the box.

Experience with configuration management tools, such as Salt and Ansible
-
Strong experience automating infrastructure using tools like Terraform and Lambda
-
Experience with Hashicorp products like Terraform, Packer, Vault, Consul, Nomad
-
Strong experience with various AWS DevOps services
-
Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or equivalent

Focused on security from the infrastructure to the applications

Where you’ll be working
All our roles are remote in the U.S. unless otherwise specified. Our Headquarters is in the Denver/Boulder, CO area. Once we reopen our offices you will have the opportunity to remain fully remote (in the U.S.), work from one of our office locations (CO only currently) or flex your time.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual compensation range for this role is $135,000-$165,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions. JumpCloud provides comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, short and long term disability, life insurance and 401k benefits. We have an unlimited vacation policy and also provide commuter benefits for employees in the Denver/Boulder, CO area.
