About the Team
We live and breathe big data. Daily, we ingest and extract useful information from hundreds of live TV channels as well as collect, analyze, and report on information from millions of active TVs.
We're all in with AWS and make extensive use of many of their services. On any given day we are running between 4500-5000 instances with a 100+ internal services on a stack and application set that includes Ubuntu, C, Python, RDS, Kafka, Elastic, Redshift and Kinesis.
As any organization that has grown organically and significantly over time there is a lot to manage and a fair amount of tech debt. This means you will have the opportunity to come in and manage what we have while helping reimagine how we approach specific operational challenges such as administration, monitoring, logging, configuration management and automation.
What You Will Do

• You come from the trenches with a substantial background in managing a DevOps team.
• You've worked in 24x7 customer-facing production environments at scale.
• You have knowledge and experience with modern CI/CD toolchains as well as at least one configuration management framework (we use SaltStack.)
• You have experience with system/service monitoring and logging frameworks, tools and best practices.
• You have experience managing and mentoring technical staff.
• You have good AWS experience with some of their core Infrastructure-related tools and services such as EC2, IAM, S3, SQS and RDS.
• You are someone that people come to when they need help because they know you want to help.
• You strive to understand the problem you are trying to solve before deciding on the solution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proactive communicating to your team, management and business stakeholders.

About You

• Own 24x7 Operations for an AWS platform supporting 5000+ instances, 100+ AWS services and 10+ databases processing millions of transactions.
• 12+ years of industry experience, 5-7+ years of managing a DevOps team and 2+ years of AWS experience.
• Responsible for serving as an escalation point for Incident Management; triaging, diagnosing issues, and leading remediation efforts.
• Management and day-to-day supervision of technical operations staff
• Own the project/task backlog (Kanban) and manage work effort including acting as liaison with remote staff/contractors as well as production releases.
• Research, recommend and assist in the implementation and documentation of infrastructure and process improvement.
• Manage day-to-day security activities as well as serve as an escalation point for security incidents be processed accordingly.

For Colorado-based employment: The minimum salary for this position is $140,000/year. The compensation package includes the annual bonus in addition to a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
