About the Team
Vizio is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead a organization of Data and Software Engineers. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in software fundamentals, extensive experience in building and managing highly scalable data platforms, and a deep understanding of customer service. This role will require the ability to manage both software and operations/infrastructure teams, as well as software like DataBricks and Snowflake. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be well-versed in AWS infrastructure and services, budget management, and cost optimimzation. And of course, on top of all that, you need to be an excellent people manager and delegator.
What You Will Do

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers and operations professionals responsible for the development, deployment, and maintenance data intensive applications
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products and services
• Collaborate with business executives and product owners to understand business objectives and translate them into technical requirements
• Work closely with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure seamless integration and delivery of data services and platforms
• Manage the infrastructure and operations of data applications hosted on AWS, including monitoring, security, and disaster recovery, and cost optimization
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in data management and security, PII, etc
• Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve the performance and scalability of data platforms and services
• Work with offshore support engineers and vendors to round out the software and operations teams
• Help prioritize workloads and team capacity

About You

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years of experience managing software and operations teams
• Strong knowledge of software fundamentals and development methodologies, including Agile/Scrum
• Extensive experience in building and managing highly scalable data platforms, with a deep understanding of data warehousing, ETL, and data modeling
• Excellent understanding of AWS infrastructure and services, such as Redshift, S3, and EC2
• Strong experience in managing vendor relationships and third-party service providers
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business executives, product owners, and technical teams
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software products and services on time and within budget
• Experience in managing data security and compliance in a regulated industry is a plus.

For Colorado-based employment: The minimum salary for this position is $ $218,000.00 /year. The compensation package includes the annual bonus in addition to a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
