Continued growth at FirstBank and technical advancements have contributed to Information Technology's expansions that are paving the way for additional improvements that will benefit the customers and employees.  We are seeking a well rounded individual with an interest in technology who possesses strong application and infrastructure automation and scripting skills to join the Profiles Software Delivery team.  The growing IT staff works in a highly collaborative environment with a strong focus to continue to support FirstBank's commitment to our customers and employees.  

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for evaluating, coding, upgrading, configuring, and maintaining the build and deployment processes across the development teams.  Collaborate on the design of automation and implementation of continuous integration and delivery to ensure quality and performance improvements are made while working closely with partner teams.  Implement processes and document procedures to ensure consistency across automation projects and workflows.  Perform problem investigation and resolution in coordination with various teams across IT.  Participate in and take a leadership role in the DevOps Center of Excellence. Train and mentor new and existing staff and provide group training on specific subject areas as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform coding, testing, and maintenance on existing programs with little direction or supervision
• Pursue educational opportunities to expand knowledge and improve skills through workshops, classes, seminars, and bank operations training
• Ability to teach small seminars on specific topics
• Contribute to design of various size projects and perform design independently on moderate to large sized projects
• Support major applications with minimal supervision
• Majority of time spent on technical issues such as coding, testing, and maintenance
• Handle critical problems with minimal supervision
• Lead other developers on moderate to large sized projects from analysis through implementation (including establishing hours estimates and project due dates)
• Work with vendors under minimal supervision
• Suggest changes and/or additions to the Programming Standards Manual and other application manuals
• Make suggestions for improving the development process
• Maintain proper documentation
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned
• Understand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION:

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience. 
• A combination of post-high school education, job related certification and related experience equivalent to 7 years may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences or other technical field is preferred  

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Working knowledge of scripting languages using Python, yaml, Groovy, BASH, PowerShell, Java, and/or related technologies
• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Ansible, Artifactory
• Experience leveraging cloud technologies
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
• Experience working in different software development lifecycle methodologies including agile, iterative, and waterfall
• Excellent organizational skills allowing for the work on multiple tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to define, design, code, test and implement efficient, quality programs, both batch and on-line, for moderate to large sized projects
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Technical understanding of FirstBank’s environments
• Strong customer service skills
• Thorough understanding of FirstBank’s change control process
• Good understanding of information security concepts
• Learned a technical skill outside of their domain
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required  

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed in an office environment with moderate noise levels and light to heavy traffic. An individual in this position:

• Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day
• Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
• Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms
• Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights
• Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files
• Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone
