The Opportunity

DAT is looking for a Software Integration Engineer II to join our Integration Systems team in either our Denver, Colorado or Beaverton, Oregon offices.

Candidate profile

We are leveraging our dominant position in the industry to invest heavily in creating innovative products in an industry going through major changes.

As a Software Integration Engineer II in DAT’s Integration Systems team, you will be part of a collaborative team designing and implementing modern, cloud native services and applications that serve as the foundation for how our customer facing products integrate with the rest of our business systems. In this role, you will work with cutting edge tools to develop code that is reliable, maintainable, and scalable. You won’t be isolated on a narrowly focused, feature factory team. You will be part of an empowered, creative, problem solving team that genuinely has fun doing what we do.

What You’ll Do

  • Work across the stack from UI to database
  • Leverage AWS and sometimes Azure to deliver efficient, cloud-native solutions
  • Write unit, integration, and functional tests, and guide others in doing the same
  • Document software designs and project tasks
  • Review functional requirements and analyze their impact on schedule and software design
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and direction to other team members
  • Design and develop REST APIs and other code that is reliable, maintainable, and extendable
  • Participate in design/code reviews
  • Translate business needs and requirements into technical specifications
  • Review functional requirements and analyze their impact on schedule and software design
  • Document software designs and project tasks
  • Work with team members to improve development processes and practices

The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in software development
  • Practical experience in C#, Java, or similar programming language
  • Practical experience in Node, Spark, Spring Boot or similar modern server frameworks
  • Practical experience with JavaScript
  • Some experience with CI/CD deployment pipelines
  • Practical experience building and supporting Microservices
  • Practical experience with containerization such as Docker
  • Practical experience building REST API’s
  • Demonstratable knowledge of design principles and patterns
  • Some experience with unit testing

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with AWS native technologies such as Kinesis, RDS, Lambda, SES/SNS/SQS, API Gateway, S3, Route53
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS and/or Azure
  • Knowledge of or experience with Agile and methodologies like SCRUM or XP
  • Experience with Angular or REACT or similar framework

 

(Colorado only) In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $100,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience.
