Job Description for Software Engineer/Junior CTO:

What is Perinatal Access?

Perinatal Access is a company focused on increasing access to high risk obstetricians for expectant mothers with high risk pregnancies. We have developed a cloud-based digital health platform that leverages telemedicine and live ultrasound streaming to enable OB/GYN physicians and other specialists in the Obstetric space (Maternal Fetal Medicine, Pediatric Cardiology, etc.) to be more effective.

Why do we need Perinatal Access today more than ever?

With the coming shortage of OB/GYN physicians (9,000 short by 2020) and the limited number of Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians (only 2,000 in entire US), the need to leverage technology to increase access to specialist care is greater than ever.

How is Perinatal Access changing the way perinatal care is delivered?

Our technology allows for a video visit between a remote physician and patient at another clinic or hospital. It gives the remote physician the ability to see a real-time stream of the patient’s ultrasound. In the past, physicians had to be in the room during an ultrasound. With Perinatal Access, physicians can be down the road or across the country and interact with the patient and the ultrasound in real-time from their iPad or iPhone.

Perinatal Access is just getting started and currently developing a  “asynchronous” solution as well for transfer and storage of DICOM images via the cloud.

Requirements for the position:

5+ years' experience developing video conferencing/playback/recording solutions. Healthcare/telemedicine and DICOM experience preferred.

Help CEO build a local tech team in Denver

Experience in building multi-platform solutions/SDK/API on two or more of Linux/Android/iOS/Mac/Win.

Develop and lead API services.

Expertise in Agile development methodology & tools, estimation and planning.

Good communication skills through email, specs and design docs.

Role will require customer service/interaction so strong interpersonal and problem solving skills are needed.

Travel is required to customer sites for implementation and product research. Approx 30%.

You will help the CEO drive the vision and direction of our virtual health platform. This role is a collaborative one that requires innovative thinking and strong leadership skills. This position could move in to a VP role in the next 6 months to a year.

This position will be based in a coworking space in downtown Denver.

Please note: because Perinatal Access is a startup company, this person must wear many hats and be flexible enough to adapt as the company goes through rapid transformation. Things will definitely not be the same from day to day!
