SonderMind is looking for an Engineering Ninja to work closely with the CTO and other software and QA engineers to accelerate our software development process. As an Engineering Ninja you will be involved in all aspects of our software development and testing process. You will drive and participate in design sessions, and constantly evaluate new technologies and trends to optimize our platform. You will also work as part of the engineering team to implement software features and bug fixes. The perfect candidate will excel at taking on many responsibilities in order to help the engineering team be successful. Our hope is that the candidate finds their true calling in our engineering group and lets us help them grow in that role.
We expect our Engineer Ninja to have the requisite skill set to be able to achieve the following outcomes within these approximate time frames:
- Within 1 weeks, independently write release notes for new production features
- Within 2 weeks, independently write and deploy bug fixes to our QA environment
- Within 3 weeks, have ability to follow test scripts to validate software changes
- Within 8 weeks, have ability to provide meaningful feedback on our software development process based on experience managing the process
Must Have:
- Experience building web applications
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with fellow business and technical team members
- Relational database experience (SQL)
- A high tolerance for ambiguity and a trailblazing spirit
Nice to Have:
- Ruby on Rails development
- Software engineering team management experience
- Experience writing automated software tests
- Experience with SCRUM or Agile process
