Hi there! We’re CampMinder, and we’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Boulder-based team.

As Engineering Manager, you’ll lead and manage a team (or teams) of Software Engineers who work closely with our Product team to enhance and expand our market-leading camp management platform. Reporting to our VP of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for the technical delivery of your team(s), ensuring they do their best quality work, in alignment with our technical and product roadmaps.

The right candidate for this role will have experience guiding software teams to deliver large-scale web and/or mobile applications in an evolving environment, while maintaining exceptional levels of employee engagement. (Employee engagement is our top priority as a company, and we take it seriously -- learn more about this here.)

We believe managers have a responsibility to their team members: to ensure they’re doing meaningful work, growing professionally, and getting the support and coaching they need to do their best work. While a solid technical background is a must (so that you can evaluate proposed solutions and ask the right questions), we’re ultimately looking for a world-class manager: someone who knows how to balance autonomy and accountability, who’s motivated by seeing others thrive and fulfill their potential, and who will model CampMinder’s core values.

What You’ll Do In This Role:

  • Mentor, coach, and lead an Engineering team (or teams)
  • Ensure the timely delivery of technical solutions in line with business needs
  • Partner with our Product team to consistently align on roadmap and priorities
  • Facilitate collaboration with other engineering teams, product owners, and stakeholders
  • Contribute to technology architecture discussions and decision-making and participate in helping to prioritize the technology roadmap
  • Advocate for and advance modern, agile software development methodologies
  • Help develop and evangelize effective engineering and organizational practices
  • Nurture a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with CampMinder’s core values
  • Manage certain aspects of the department’s 3rd-party vendors, licenses, and subscriptions

What You Bring:

  • A professional history of leading and managing software teams to deliver large-scale web and/or mobile applications in an evolving business environment
  • A management style characterized by candor, genuine care, and respect for each individual on your team
  • A passion for (and proven experience) developing and growing the members of your team
  • A solid working knowledge of software technologies, tools, and best practices
  • Experience successfully managing teams in an Agile environment
  • The ability to persist in the face of challenges, while inspiring your team to do the same
  • A willingness to genuinely listen to dissenting perspectives balanced with the confidence to make a judgment call when needed
  • Experience with an agile project management software (e.g. Rally or similar)

Please note: we do not expect that you will write or review code in this role, but we are looking for someone with solid technical knowledge and the ability to discuss technical topics in depth.

Role Location: Due to COVID-19, all CampMinder employees are working from home for the foreseeable future. We ask that you have a reliable, high-speed internet connection and be available during standard business hours. In the event that we reopen the office in some capacity, you will need to live within reasonable commuting distance from the office in Boulder, Colorado and be willing to work on-site at least several days per week.

CampMinder Employee Benefits:

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Paid parental leave for all new parents
  • Company-paid disability and life insurance
  • Trust-Based (flexible) PTO
  • Monthly wellness allowance
  • Supportive co-workers and leadership
  • Focus on learning and growth
