Software Engineering Manager

The Autostore MFC team is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager who can help build out technology strategies towards integrating the Autostore Warehouse Management cloud software services with our partners and manage a team of experienced engineers in that process.

This role will focus on a several key aspects of the organization, such as helping to drive integration projects, create clear integration interfaces, help to design and provide tools for simplifying integration, scalability, …. In this role you will gain a strong understanding of our products and become a technical expert of our products.

This role will report into the Director of Technology, and will work with a team of engineers, supported by a project manager and QA manager to follow up on, and successfully complete the client integration projects technical evaluation, planning, design, architecture., and implementation.

The candidate for this position is well versed in all aspects of Software Development, best practices and you has managed a small team before or you have been a lead/principal engineer.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Help understand the requirements for Client Integrations and assist in planning client integration projects.

• Drive the team towards designing a system that can support and simplify integrations: Rest APIs, events-based messaging, dashboards, configurability, …

• Work with the Core Platform team to understand additional products needs that are required to support our clients.

• Help with implementation tasks, code reviews and driving excellence in software development (unit tests!)

• Work with the team to reduce technical debt and risks in the code

• Look after scalability needs early on

• Manage a team of engineers and help them reach personal excellence

• Coordinate with other senior staff about needs and directions during our projects

Skills:

• You are an excellent communicator, both internally and with clients

• You have experience with system integrations and the challenges that come with it. Message based integration are a plus.

• Experience with Azure or AWS

• General experience with a wide range of modern software technologies and practices:

• 10+ years of Software Engineering Experience

• 3+ years of managing a team of software developers
