Software Engineering Director
Signpost is making it easy for small businesses to manage their online presence, convert interested consumers and remarket existing customers. Our cloud-based marketing platform automates the myriad of tasks required to effectively market a small business online, freeing owners to focus on what they do best.
Our engineering team is growing rapidly and we’re looking for our next generation of technical leaders. As an engineering leader you will work with the VP of engineering to help build and foster a strong culture. You will recruit, hire, coach and develop our engineer leaders, help establish a strong set of empowered product teams, and work with our product team to build features our customers love.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the engineering leaders and help them build high performing agile teams
- Partner with Product Managers to improve our development process
- Foster a positive, growth oriented atmosphere for all engineers
- Work with VP of Engineering to build a high performance engineering culture
- Hold engineers and team(s) accountable to goals
- Ensure frequent deployments and low cycle times
- Communicate, coach toward and hold your team(s) responsible to high standards
- Facilitate team and individual decision making
- Act as hiring manager for engineering positions
- Help build career paths for all team members
- Assist in building a framework for performance feedback
- Select, manage and implement 3rd party software vendors
- Support teams through conflict to healthy resolutions
Experience /Education:
- Experience managing others OR as a proven, technical leader
- At least 7 years building high quality web or mobile applications with modern tools
- Ability competently to discuss high level solutions in NodeJs
- Strong understanding of AWS and SRE/DevOps concepts
- Experience building SaaS products
- An understanding of the value derived from shipping code rapidly to production and learning/iterating on the results.

Salary Range: $165,000 - $200,000 a year
