About Role

As a Software Engineer in the Central Engineering Organization, you will work as part of an innovative, fun, agile development team.  You will be responsible for software plans, designs, development, and testing automated services and tools to enable a DevOps culture across our HCI Product Development organization.   

What you will do:

- Work collaboratively within a team and cross-functional engineering groups

- Develop longer-range project plans and schedules for individual or work for a small team

- Problem solving with problems that are complex in scope and require in-depth evaluation

- Responsible for unstructured tasks and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives, creative approaches, and with more interdependencies

- Help define user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements

- Demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and mentoring of others

- Limited supervision and direction is provided as this individual can operate, drive results, and set priorities independently

Mus have:

- Experience owning a feature from concept through delivery to customers

- 5+ years of professional experience in software product development

- Extensive Python programming experience

- Experience with Kubernetes, Mesophere, or Docker swarm running production workloads 

- Experience with Test automation frameworks, tools, work flows and services

- Experience with DevOps practices such as Configuration Management and CI/CD, and the tools/applications involved 

- Strong leadership skills in being a wholistic software engineer

Desired:

             - Experience operating in a truly agile development team as a software engineer

             - Experienced in test driven development

            - Experience operating within the SAFe agile framework

            - Experience using Jira

            - Experience with Jenkins, Git, and Artifactory, or other similar tools in enterprise build/test environment 

           - Generalist technical knowledge within department and working knowledge of major system component interactions

           - Recognized expert in a portion of product area

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
