NetApp is actively seeking an experienced OpenStack Development Engineer working in NetApp’s Cloud Infrastructure Business Unit. You’ll regularly participate within the OpenStack community, internally across functions, with industry partners, but primarily within a development team focused on the integration of SolidFire technologies within OpenStack.
Job Requirements
- Strong coding skills in Python, with emphasis on writing modular, scalable code.
- Linux platform experience (additional OS is a plus)
- Familiarity with API web service design.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Work collaboratively within a team and have strong influencing and leadership skills
- Creative and analytical approach to problem solving
- Ability to estimate work completion required to build an overall predictable plan
- Proven aptitude for learning new technologies by leveraging internal and external education
- Ability to write tutorials/documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards
- Understanding of software frameworks and the ability to pick up new frameworks quickly
- Demonstrate favorable results through coaching and influencing others
- Use test-driven development to guide implementation
Plus Skills:
- Previous experience working with complex source code and/or scripts
- Expertise in additional languages other than Python
Education
Education and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience is required. 6 to 8 years of experience is preferred
- A Bachelor of Science or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science or related technical discipline; or equivalent experience is required
- Experience working with open source
- Experience with one or more of: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Compute Engine, Microsoft Azure, Rackspace Cloud, Eucalyptus, Open Nebula, CloudStack, vCloud Director or equivalent cloud management platforms / services.
- Experience with common deployment and configuration management frameworks (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.)
- Experience working in a fast paced Agile environment
Bonus:
