Title: Software Engineer in Test

Location: U.S. Based, Remote


Who is the Data Squad?

Our Data team's primary focus is to provide accurate and consistent data to our platform and customers. Data sources will vary from hundreds of data providers as well as from our very own platform analytics. As a member of the Data team, you'll be working on our data pipeline orchestrated by various open source technologies. You'll be joining a team that cares about shipping sustainable and tested solutions that will affect real-world real estate transactions.

What you will do as a Software Engineer in Test:

  • Design and develop tools, frameworks, and automated testing infrastructure to facilitate the testing and development cycles
  • Collaborates with team members (e.g., Product Managers, DevOps Engineers, Data Engineers) to define the automated testing strategy for data products
  • Lead effort towards simplifying test tools and infrastructure in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, stability, and scalability
  • Contribute to the operational and engineering excellence efforts of the team
  • Participate in squad ceremonies and team events (lunch & learn, brainstorms, etc.)

Skills And Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Fluent in programming languages such as Python/Java & SQL Experience with CI/CD environments & Cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Proficiency in multiple test automation tools and frameworks
  • Experience in developing test strategies, test plans, and test cases
  • Experience with data-driven architecture and systems design, RESTful APIs, serverless/lambdas, microservices architecture
  • Experience with SQL, NoSQL, in-memory and/or distributed SQL (e.g. PostgreSQL, Redis,DynamoDB, AuroraDB)
  • Proven success working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience or interest in establishing and leveraging data quality tools like Great Expectations & Data Observability tools like OpenMetadata/Amundsen
  • Experience working with Big Data systems like SnowFlake or Redshift & Data orchestration tools like Airflow
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools like Behave or Cucumber
