We are looking for a software engineer to lead the design and implementation of our search product in the Checkr application. This engineer will closely be working and collaborating with product managers and data scientists to measure and optimize search performance. 

Responsibilities:

  • Building new user-facing features, the infrastructure to support them, and writing tests for it all
  • Collaborating with Design and Product to design, scope, and build new features
  • Helping identify, triage, and solve bugs
  • Building shared code, with an eye for developer experience - reusability, readability, modularity, documentation, etc.

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of full-stack software engineering and/or work-related industry experience
  • 2+ years of working on elastic search or similar search infrastructure 
  • Curiosity, and interest in diving into challenging technical problems.
  • Ability to deliver clean, robust, scalable, and well-tested code.
  • Ability to build out reliable distributed systems after evaluating and discussing tradeoffs.
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate well with other Checkrs.
