Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

Travelers Haven (https://www.travelershaven.com) seeks a Software Engineer who wants to make an immediate impact on a growing team. We have big goals for 2018 and beyond and need to grow our team’s bandwidth to meet them.

You will work directly with the executive team and other employees using our software to help shape the future of our company. Our team is small but focused on shipping quality product.

The ideal candidate for this position gravitates towards the back-end systems side and enjoys working with data and APIs. You must love Ruby, Postgres, and green test suites. You should also want to learn and grow your skills, share what you know, and create polished product.

In this position, building new features and performing maintenance and refactoring for a complex yet reliable Ruby on Rails application hosted on Heroku.

• We ship code daily to our CI, staging, and production environments. Build status, deployments, and production monitoring alerts are posted to Slack.
• We use the Kanban framework for managing our backlog and prioritizing work.  
• We are good teammates who follow our working agreement. We’re looking for hard workers who don’t let their ego get in the way.

Desired Qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional web development, including production experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Strong computer science problem-solving ability for creating, testing, and optimizing scalable algorithms.
• Understanding of application performance management and security best practices.
• Experience with Heroku and/or Amazon Web Services.
