Job Summary:

Responsible for new business implementation, upgrades and maintenance of OmniDC client infrastructure in ASP.  Extensive knowledge of OmniDC a must. Installs / upgrades software and establishes production job schedules based on business requirements.  Coordinates communication between OmniDC and other integrated products such as EXP AG, Data Validation Web, AdminWeb, OmniTrade, OmniPay and Participant/Sponsor/Broker webs. Supports investigation / resolution of production related issues as they surface. Sets up interfaces between OMNI and clients / vendors via FTP/SFTP processes. Some evening / weekend work may be required. Minimal travel requirements. 

What you will be Doing:

  • Project Implementation:  

  • Manage the client's issues and facilitate resolution with other team members. 

  • Extensive COBOL experience, including development and support 

  • Use present information (log files, system information dumps, information submitted by front-end users, etc.) to debug and correct errors in both batch and online processing 

  • Translating systems specifications into technical design and specifications 

  • Document User Change Requests 

  • Work with development to facilitate design and to correct system bugs. 

  • Ensure system objectives are met and that the outputs produced are in accordance with client requirements 

  • Provides support to business users by identifying and assessing key issues that arise. 

  • Provides support to the Project Manager in developing and maintaining project tasks and timelines. 

  • Create and maintain checklists for each product implementation or upgrade and ensure proper completion and quality control of all checklist steps 

  • Help to identify and redirect non-implementation related issues (Scope Changes, Product Enhancements, billable service requests, product defects, etc.) 

  • Regularly report on ASP Technical success / failure rates in meeting established operating standards.  Help to identify and correct problem areas. 

  • Maintain familiarity with Omni products, their latest versions and supporting infrastructures.  

  • Provide after hour emergency support of assigned products within the ASP production support team.

  • Analyzing and recommending alternatives for solutions. 

Technologies supported:

  • Knowledge and experience with job schedulers, preferably TWS  

  • Knowledge and experience with both Unix/AIX and Windows scripting   

  • Knowledge and experience with interfacing w/ SMTP email applications 

  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products that are used for/during project tasks: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc. 

  • Knowledge and experience with VShell (Van Dyke Technologies) commands used for connectivity and file transfers 

  • Knowledge and experience with file compression products, preferably pkzip, gzip, 7zip 

  • File editing tools on both Windows and Unix/AIX platforms  

  • Linux experience required

  • SAS experience a plus

Education, Work Experience and Skills: 

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree or the equivalent of education and experience 

  • 5+ years of related experience, as described above 

  • Experience with Omni suite of products is required 

  • Experience with OmniScript is preferred

  • Extensive COBOL experience is required 

  • Very good understanding of Project Life Cycle including: Project 

  • Definition/Direction, Requirements Gathering, Analysis, Implementation, and Document Preparation
