About the Team VIZIO advertising software solutions is looking for an enthusiastic Software Engineer to help deliver our strategic initiatives in our ad tech team. We look for people who can effectively partner with Program & Product Management to deliver high scaling, cutting edge software. The position can be held in one of several offices (San Francisco, Dallas, Denver, Irvine, New York), and is responsible for delivering critical software capabilities for our advertising technology stack. We are a close-knit team, focusing on challenging problems that make a difference in our business. We concentrate on high-impact, high-value development, and in this role, you'll be lynchpin in delivering the software that helps us grow. What You Will Do
- Be part of a dynamic team that builds a scalable, future proof offering in a high growth area of VIZIO
- Collaborate with other engineers (back end, UI/UX) to deliver critical capabilities driving growth
- Work with Product, Program, DevOps to make sure your projects meet business, scaling, compliance, and security needs
- Improve code quality through unit tests, test automation, and code reviews
- Be accountable for delivery
About You
- You have a BA / MA in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar / relevant field
- 1-5 years of experience as a software engineer
- You're excited about complicated problems, but also make sure they drive to solutions
- Experience with open-source implementations, cloud environments
- You've worked in Agile (or related) environments and product development lifecycles
- Clear and effective communication skills, and have a track record of delivering high quality, highly scaling software
- You take ownership for the quality of your software and have experience with Continuous Integration /Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), test automation
- Have worked in environments with multiple development languages to solve discrete needs depending on the system involved (e.g., Java / PHP / Python)
- You have experience or interest in Rust with a background in C++
- You are a hard-working team player, with a "no task is too small" attitude
- Appreciates the challenge of translating highly technical product offerings and concepts for a wide variety of audiences, elucidating the "why", not just the "what"
- Have a proven ability to self-motivate and be independent, as well as capable of operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Experience in advertising technology offerings at a well-known organization (e.g., DSP, SSP, Ad Servers)
