You will be working within a fast-paced team focused on developing tools to migrate customers from competitive products to Vertafore products. Responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing existing tools and to work with the team to rewrite to the standard toolset where it makes sense. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing the solutions you provide.
Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:
You will be the primary developer for maintaining and enhancing a set of tools used to migrate to and from the QQ product lines. You will work directly with conversion analysts to identify their current needs and prioritize work identified. You will work with the team to design any changes and work independently to develop and test changes. Where it makes sense to use the standard conversion toolset you will work closely with the team to incorporate QQ conversions into the standard toolset.
Qualifications:
Ability to quickly learn and understand new database schemas
Ability to create tables, views, stored procedures, indexes, constraints, cursors, user defined functions and triggers using T-SQL and SSMS
Extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) data to/from MS SQL Server
Custom data modification scripts
Coding, interface design, documentation and unit testing
Experience in C#.Net
Experience in VB6 / ACCESS
Client-side and/or server-side debugging/tracing, such as using Visual Studio, Fiddler, Wireshark, etc.
Knowledge of consuming/developing RESTful (OData) web services preferred
Batch file and/or PowerShell experience preferred
Self-starter who is detail-oriented, quick-learner and deadline-driven
Experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Insurance industry experience preferred
Experience working independently and within a team
Bachelor's degree in computer related field or equivalent work experience
2+ years real-world software development experience
Additional Requirements and Details:
Travel required up to 10% of the time.
Located and working from an office location.
Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).
