Overview:
Our JumpCloud developer enablement/experience software engineers are integral members of our cross-functional platform team. Working closely with the engineers on feature teams, you will work on identifying the areas that can be enhanced to lower developer’s cognitive load and make our engineering workflows and pipelines even more efficient. You’ll write common tools, provide development best practices, and thought leadership as we deliver software for our growing customer base world-wide.
What you’ll be doing:
- Identify workflows and practices that can be generalized and automated
- Develop strategy and roadmaps for tooling that increases developer productivity and provides better developer experience throughout the SDLC
- Build and maintain tooling common to engineering, using the best technologies and tools available
- Partner with engineering technical leadership to prioritize and execute the projects
- Communicate and collaborate with engineers to use our “paved paths” and best practices
Skills and attributes we’d like you to have:
- You like to write code, are passionate about helping other engineers be more productive, and have a knack for simplifying complex processes and workflows.
- Knowing how everything works from top to bottom, learning new technologies, and automating wherever possible is a passion.
Responsibilities:
- Creating tools and/or automated processes to aid in feature development workflow
- Identifying and reducing development frictions
- Building and maintaining the common frameworks to be used by developers
- Partnering with engineering technical leadership to “enable” developers
- Producing documentation and training the developers to use best practices
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional programming experience
- Coding skills in Go, Python, and/or JavaScript
- Expertise in bash scripting is a plus
- Direct experience working on or leading developer enablement/experience efforts is strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of the cloud computing, CI/CD processes, or observability tools is a big plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant experience
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual compensation range for this role is $115,000-$155,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions. JumpCloud provides a comprehensive benefits package, with several medical plans to choose from including a high deductible HSA plan with employer contribution, two dental plans, vision insurance, flexible spending account (FSA), employee assistance program (EAP), short- and long-term disability, life insurance and a 401k savings plan with match. We have an unlimited vacation policy.

JumpCloud is committed to being Remote First, meaning that are you able to work remotely within the country noted in the Job Description.
For US Roles: All roles posted in United States locations do require that you be located within one of the 50 U.S. States. Our Headquarters is in the Denver/Boulder, CO area but as a remote company, you are able to work remotely anywhere in the U.S. If you would like to spend time in the office in Denver/Boulder area, you are welcome do that as well.
