What You Will Do

We are looking for a Cloud Data Architect to guide data modeling and architecture as we evolve our technical products from relational data models to modern, scalable cloud based data stores. 

This role will help drive our technical transformation to Cloud-based software based architecture by working closely with product owners, developers, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineers, and managers to create a solution that meets our functional, scalability, extensibility, privacy, and maintainability needs.  Solutions will involve collaborative data modeling, tool design and selection, operational process creation, migration of large datasets, and possible vendor selection.  Both technical excellence and influence skills will be critical to success in this role. 

How You Will Spend Your Days:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing end-to-end data solutions (storage, integration, processing, access) using AWS technologies. 
  • Serving as the primary data architect for the development of new cloud-based application, API, and integration architectures. 
  • With IT operations, developing methods and processes to support a sustainable enterprise data architecture. 
  • Defining data architectural principles and standards and ensure compliance with them. 

What You Bring to This Role: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Hands on experience designing data solutions for at least two AWS based software solutions, including at least one solution that involves high volume data transactions. 
  • An exceptional understanding of AWS storage solutions such as S3, EFS, and EBS. 
  • Experience implementing solutions leveraging AWS non-relational data solutions such as Elasticsearch, DynamoDB and/or Redshift. 
  • 3+ years’ experience implementing solutions on relational databases such as Amazon RDS. 
  • A good understanding of AWS compute solutions such as EC2 and Lambda serverless architectures. 
  • Solid experience migrating data from large relational data stores to more cloud based, non-relational data stores. 
  • Familiarity with BI and Analytics solutions is a plus. 

Compensation for this position includes an annual base salary of $150,000 to $190,000, eligibility for an annual bonus, and participation in the Founder’s Pool program.
