JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a passionate technologist to assure the high availability and stability of our Vertafore products. The successful candidate must have a can-do attitude and competency in delivering innovative and practical solutions to achieve our technology and business objectives. This position reports to the Manager of Site Reliability Engineering.
Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:
· Subject Matter Expert on how the applications works, its underlying infrastructure, architecture, and data relationships.
· Address escalations from Customer Support and other Technology Operations teams.
· Troubleshoot and provide resolution for application and infrastructure issues.
· Own root cause analysis.
· Primary resource to resolve complex incident and problem.
· Peer review on solutions for other SRE.
· Research on new technologies and concepts to improve product reliability and resiliency.
· Collaborate with the development and product management teams for any solutions that required non-operational development engagement.
· Apply reverse engineering to identify root cause of issue.
· Automate and provide short-term and long-term solutions to address product and infrastructure needs.
· Collaborate with other Technology Operations and development teams to ensure proactive monitoring, high availability, and performance of products to achieve the best customer experience.
· Take ownership of root cause analysis to resolve problems permanently.
· Build servers and setup applications.
· Automate solutions and support processes.
· Create and maintain runbooks that outlined support procedures.
· Collaborate with others to innovate and implement solutions to optimize product and team performance.
· Lead and participate in projects as required.
· Communicate solutions effectively to technical and non-technical teams.
· Comply with standard processes and security policies when implementing solutions.
· Be on call as required to respond to emergency escalations.
· Technical mentor for other SRE.

· Exposure in the insurance industry is desired but not mandatory.
Qualifications:
· BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or established professionals with relevant experience.
· Minimum of two years as a senior SRE or equivalent role.
· Must have at least five years administration experience with managing applications, servers (Windows and Linux), virtualization software (VMWare), web engines (IIS, TomCat, Apache) and other equivalent experience.
· Mandatory experience and great understanding of Domain Controllers/Active Directory and load balancer (F5).
· Well understood on the TCP/UDP networking protocols.
· Must have scripting experience including PowerShell, Bash, or other equivalent languages.
· Exposure to Microsoft Windows and Microsoft .NET frameworks.
· Must have at least 5 years experience in Linux based platforms such as but not limited to CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Oracle Linux.
· Exposures with Kubernetes and RabbitMQ.
· Database experience with SQL Server is required. Experience with Oracle is highly desired.
· Must have data center and AWS experience.
· Mandatory AWS hands on experience covering but not limited to EC2, S3, Route 53, VPC, Auto Scaling, Elastic Beanstalk, and IAM.

High speed internet to accommodate working from home needs.
Travel required up to 10% of the time.
Located and working from an office location.
Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).
Frequent sitting and/or standing.
