About the Team VIZIO advertising technology solutions is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Software Engineer to help deliver our strategic initiatives in our ad tech team. We look for people who can effectively partner with Program & Product Management to deliver high scaling, cutting edge software. The position can be held in one of several offices (San Francisco, Dallas, Denver, Irvine, New York), and is responsible for delivering critical software capabilities for our advertising technology stack. We are a close-knit team, focusing on challenging problems that make a difference in our business. We concentrate on high-impact, high-value development, and in this role, you'll be lynch-pin in delivering the software that helps us grow. What You Will Do

  • Be part of a dynamic team that builds a scalable, future proof offering in a high growth area of VIZIO
  • Collaborate with other engineers (back end, UI/UX) to deliver critical capabilities driving growth
  • Work with Product, Program, DevOps to make sure your projects meet business, scaling, compliance, and security needs
  • Improve code quality through unit tests, test automation, and code reviews
  • Be accountable to delivery
  • Write excellent code, support less experienced team members, be opinionated and help build your team culture

About You

  • Experience driving solutions, designing solutions, and leading development efforts for highly scalable, data-centric applications
  • You're excited about complicated problems, challenging work, and improving your craft in the process of solving
  • Experience with open-source implementations, cloud environments
  • Clear and effective communication skills, and have a track record of delivering high quality, highly scaling software
  • You take ownership for the quality of your software and have experience with Continuous Integration /Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), test automation
  • Have worked in environments with multiple development languages to solve discrete needs depending on the system involved (e.g., C++ / Java / Python / Rust)
  • You are a hard-working team player, with a "no task is too small" attitude
  • Appreciates the challenge of translating highly technical product offerings and concepts for a wide variety of audiences, elucidating the "why", not just the "what"
  • Have a proven ability to self-motivate and be independent, as well as capable of operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience in advertising technology offerings at a well-known organization (e.g., DSP, SSP, Ad Servers)
  • You believe in rapid development, deploying to production early and often, high quality, and high performance software
  • You think C++ sounds cool, not scary
  • Experience building scalable and secure API-drive architectures
  • Ability to lead solutions, mentor others, and operate independently from your team or with little oversight.
