About the Team VIZIO advertising technology solutions is looking for a stellar Senior Data Applications Engineer to help design and guide the development of our ad tech stack. The position can be held in one of several offices (San Francisco, Dallas, Denver, Irvine, New York.) We are a close-knit team, focusing on challenging problems that make a difference to our business. We concentrate on high-impact, high-value development, and in this role, you will help drive the foundations of that work. The Data Applications Engineer role will be responsible for understanding data pipelines, event streaming applications, and how to build systems that handle massive amounts of data while making it consumable by other application teams and users. What You Will Do

• Design wholly new systems that drive differentiation for our advertising technology
• Design and implement data applications to expose real time and longer term data use cases
• Work within an AWS toolset, or other open source data frameworks
• Work with software engineers to approve and ensure that proposed implementations will deliver both immediate and future requirements
• Work closely with Product & Program Managers, along with Engineering managers to determine scope, feasibility, and timelines on delivering business needs

About You

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field.
• You like writing code, doing prototypes, and learning about new technologies, processes, and ideas
• Have experience with system design for high scaling systems supporting real-time and aggregated data use cases
• Effectively design, prototype, and evaluate systems, frameworks, etc. and their ability to solve for business needs
• Clear and effective communication skills, and can rally a team around the recommendations and directions you're suggesting
• Have worked in environments with multiple development languages to solve discrete needs depending on the system involved (e.g., C++ / Java / Python / Rust )
• Experience operating in Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environments
• Experience in advertising technology offerings at a well-known organization (e.g., DSP, SSP, Ad Servers)
• Experience with Big Data systems like Druid, Cassandra, Hadoop, and Kafka
