Who we are looking for
LogRhythm is seeking a qualified Architect 2 with the requisite experience and passion for designing, implementing and delivering products to support our customers need for advanced cyber threat detection and mitigation. As an Architect 2 for LogRhythm, the successful candidate will provide technical direction and support for LogRhythm’s next generation platforms major subsystems. As a hands-on architect you will work with teams of engineers to transform the way our customers do business. You will be responsible for designing major subsystems in our next generation of cloud-based products, building micro service-based applications that can deliver flexible capabilities to different user bases, and providing technical leadership to teams to achieve LogRhythm’s product vision through active mentoring, technical decision-making, and design/architecture. In this role you will work with a talented engineering leadership team executing LogRhythm’s platform and product strategy focused on enterprise log management/analytics and NextGen Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) market leadership. The successful candidate must have experience architecting complex greenfield subsystems of enterprise scale for commercial cloud/SaaS software platforms and products. You will provide technical leadership, as well as hands on work in an agile organization which uses SAFe (Scaled Agile FW).
Here’s an overview of the responsibilities & challenges ahead
- Work closely with Enterprise Architects to help define our next generation platforms.
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of major subsystems of the next generation platform.
- Ensure designs meet technical, functional, security, and compliance requirements
- Mentor other team members in growing their skills/careers
- Help steer and evangelize solutions, best practices and new ideas across multiple teams in the organization
- Be an effective spokesperson and champion for the LogRhythm platform and the engineering team both inside and outside of LogRhythm.
- Participate in code reviews across multiple teams
- Conduct tech talks or other brown bags across the organization
- Participate and provide input into hiring and candidate selection
- Disseminate our technical vision, guidelines, and technologies to engineering teams, Product Management, Operations teams, and executives across LogRhythm.
Required Skills
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similarly relevant engineering or computational discipline
- Proven track record leading subsystem architecture of multiple enterprise scale greenfield transformational Cloud/SaaS platforms/products
- 10+ years of experience developing back-end services in Java
- Expertise in microservice design and implementation including API design
- Deep understanding of micro-service-based architectures and building performing, scalable and durable solutions in cloud environments
- Experience with standard development and CI/CD tooling (e.g. Git, Jenkins, etc.)
- Experience developing in a cloud environment (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience with producing System Architecture diagrams and supporting documentation
- Broad knowledge and experience with DevOps-oriented processes and toolsets
- Direct experience remediating design and code server-side security defects and weaknesses
- Prefer additional experience in remediating client-side design and code security defects
- Solid knowledge of Linux and desire to understand OS security hardening and best practices
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization techniques, including MFA and SSO
- Ability to create and consider multiple approaches and distill into one recommended well thought out technical strategy including logic/reasoning.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary and Other Compensation:
- The annual starting salary for this position is between $175,000 - $190,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
