Guild is hiring for a Quality Engineer to work cross functionally within our organization. This role will work across multiple development teams closely with product and the business to help orchestrate testing of multi-functional operations. This position is responsible for learning how multiple teams and products interact to deliver a larger end goal and in that helping to drive processes and procedure to ensure quality and timely delivery.

The Quality Engineer is responsible for collaboratively working with Product Management, Software Engineers, Design and other members of the QE organization to both create, consult on and implement a testing strategy.

As a Quality Engineer at Guild, You Will: 

  • Build and own processes for testing designated team products and automated testing efforts,
  • Working closely with product, engineers, and business to fully acceptance-test new features, bug fixes, and improvements,
  • Share information gathered while planning and testing to squad members and others as-needed using existing processes or recommending new ones.
  • Create tests (automated and non)and collaborate with engineering, Product, DevOps and others to establish the necessary infrastructure to make this a reality,
  • Actively support/solve intensified issues from both internal and external customers.

We would like to see: 

  • 1-2 years of proven experience, passionate about testing, software quality assurance, and/or quality engineering
  • Solid understanding of Quality Engineering concepts and methodologies 
  • Hands-on experience with API, functional, compatibility, acceptance/smoke testing, ad-hoc/exploratory, database, regression, staging, installation and multi-platform testing.
  • Experience using issue tracking systems and test case management tools,
  • Outstanding attention to detail and dedication to quality,
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast paced, early stage startup environment,
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, including the ability to solve sophisticated problems in the face of time pressure and information/resource constraints,
  • Ability to use risk-based and context-driven techniques in order to create a holistic testing strategy
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range $91,000 - $121,250  as well as company stock options.
