$110k to $140k depending on experience

The Applications Developer III/Sr Analyst, Apps Dev will develop, test, and implement software changes in a distributed applications environment according to existing software standards. Individuals in this job work as part of a team on large projects and independently on medium efforts. These efforts include the maintenance and enhancement of legacy in-house applications, including ASP.net Web Forms applications, thick-client C# .Net Windows Forms applications, and C# .Net REST based Web Services. You will work in a sophisticated agile software production environment, using tools such as Jira, GitHub, SmartGit, Jenkins, PLSQL, and Confluence. At times you will be responsible for autonomously resolving critical problems. As a Senior you will be involved in strategy and design decisions and will provide a leadership role within the development team.
What you will do:
- Focus primarily on technical issues such as design, coding, testing, and maintenance alongside technical project leadership and management
- Plan and coordinate with the team, using agile software development methodologies and Jira
- Utilize source control tool, GitHub/SmartGit, to move your software through development, testing, and into production
- Write code for web applications using ASP.Net Web Forms, which includes HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, SQL, and third party software from DevExpress
- Write code for thick-client .Net Windows Forms applications, which include C#, SQL, and third party software from DevExpress
- Write code for .Net applications interfacing with an Oracle database, including creating and maintaining SQL
- Maintain and enhance C# .Net REST based Web Services
- Contribute to design of various size projects including collaboration with Solutions Architecture
- Handle critical problems with minimal supervision
- Maintain appropriate documentation
- Drive improvements in applications and development processes
- Mentor other developers
- Work with vendors with minimal supervision
- Work with management to help prioritize tasks and assign resources
- Pursue formal and informal educational opportunities to expand knowledge and improve skills
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
- Understand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

- Demonstrated ability to define, design, code, test and implement efficient, quality programs for projects
- Demonstrated technical understanding of distributed applications environments
- Strong understanding of object-oriented technology
- Demonstrated coding skills in one of FirstBank’s key software development languages for distributed applications such as C#, Java, or JavaScript
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Web Services, and LDAP
- Working knowledge of information security concepts and techniques as they apply to application development
- Working knowledge of common change control processes
Minimum Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience
- A combination of post-high school education, job related certification and related experience equivalent to 7 years may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
- Experience working in an agile software development environment
